Title: Men's Golf Tied for Second after First Round of NCAA Regional Post by: pmull on May 17, 2013, 11:44:50 AM We are 10 shots behind the leader but we are tied for second. The top 5 from each regional make it to the finals so we are still in good shape. We need a better back nine today.
Quote The second-ranked Alabama men's golf team found the back nine at the University Club of Baton Rouge much more difficult than the front nine and is 10 shots out of the lead of the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional after 18 holes on Thursday. The Crimson Tide made the turn in the lead at 5-under par on the par-72, 7,436-yard University Club, but a 13-over-par total on the back nine left Alabama in a tie for second place with South Alabama. Florida has the first-round lead at 2-under-par 286. Houston and Tennessee are tied for fourth at 12-over-par 300. Coastal Carolina is one position out of qualifying for NCAAs at 14-over 302. The top five teams at the end of 54 holes will advance to the NCAA Championships on May 28-June 2 on the Crabapple Course at the Capital City Club in Woodstock, Ga. http://www.rolltide.com/sports/m-golf/recaps/051613aaa.html Title: Re: Men's Golf Tied for Second after First Round of NCAA Regional Post by: pmull on May 17, 2013, 03:28:51 PM Alabama shot the best round of the day on Day 2. Houston and Coastal Carolina (insert auto rip off joke here) are tied for 5th 11 strokes behind us. The top 5 advance to the finals. We should be in a good position to hold on to second place.
