Jury pitched a complete game and I thought she did a pretty good job. She got in a couple of jams tonight and pitched out of them, something that she has struggled with all season. Bama should have won this game by a bigger margin but just couldn't get the timely hits when needed, They had the bases loaded with no outs once and failed to score. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day for their bats.

Hopefully Traina can pitch to her potential today, WKU is no slouch team.

McCleney made two outstanding plays last night that I think saved Bama from an embarrasment. She threw a runner out at the plate and made an incredible catch on a line drive in left center. I still don't believe she caught up with that ball and made the diving catch that she made. I met her mom and dad at the game last night and I can see where she gets her athleticism from.

We still have light rain this morning, hopefully it will be moved out by gametime.

For those of you interested in knowing the results of all of the Regional Tournaments check the link below. The SEC had a fantastic first day (9-1) with Miss State being the only team to lose.

Big win for the Tide.

USC Upstate beat Jax State in the losers bracket. The Upstate pitcher tossed a no-hitter.

In the third game of the day WK beat Upstate to advance to the Regional Finals against Alabama. The first game is at 1:00. Bama only needs to win once to advance to the Super Regionals. IF WK wins the first game they will play again this afternoon.

This Bama team could have beaten anybody today. This was the old J Train pitching today and the team really did some good things with their bats. I think it was smart of CPM to pull J Train when he did, she was able to finish on a high note, something that hasn't happened in most of her latest games.

What I really liked most is the style of play that Bama has shown the last two games, manufactoring runs. I haven't seen Bama sacrificing runners like they did yesterday and today in a very long time. If they can take this energy to Knoxville, and execute the way they did today, they might just surprise some folks up there. ;)

Jamos, other than loss of stamina, what have been her other struggles?  Has she lost velocity?  Lost movement?

That looks like a compression sleeve.  Possibly tendonitus?

Possibly Tendenitis? IMO, that is very likely given the amount of repetitious movements she makes...

I don't know anything tendinitis so I am just asking a question. Why would hitting be worse than pitching? It appears she is allowed to pitch but not allowed to hit.

Probably due to the impact of the ball hitting the bat.  Just a guess though...Maybe it is simply due to the fact that the team needs her pitching more than her hitting?  Again, not sure...

If it is tendinitus, about the only surefire cure is rest.  She probably needs to be shut down completely for a month or two, but we desperately need her as a pitcher to have a successful team.

The reason I was asking Jamos about velocity/movement...I'd imagine tendinitus might not affect her top-end velocity a great deal, but it would affect her movement (don't think she'd be able to get a good snap and tight rotation on a breaking ball).  Not only movement, it could affect her gripping, and thus her changeup and ability to keep batters off balance.

I have stated that I thought her stamina is not where it used to be but if she has pain intrying to pitch, this might explain her not being able last as long. She had a very good 4 innings yesterday and that might be an indication of her tolerance of pain. She hasn't been able to challenge the better hitters because they are taking her deep, but she did yesterday. I'm thinking she may have some inflamed muscles in her forearm which would restrict her ability to spin the ball and spinning the ball is a must. The funny thing about all of this is you never see flexing her hand or arm in any way that she may have some discomfort.
