Noel had a serious ACL knee injury, something most sites I read say takes 2 years to fully recover. This sounds like Greg Ogden, the #1 pick in the draft in 2007 who had a history of injuries. He is now a free agent. Of course, the most notorious injury-prone selection was Sam Bowie, also from Kentucky, picked first in 1984.

When healthy they were by far the best players in college the year they game out. Noel is good and has a high ceiling but he has not developed to the point of being a top pick yet IMO.
I am not blaming Noel. He had no choice but to enter the NBA draft since he will be a lottery pick but he could use another year or two in college to prepare himself for the NBA. |
