Title: Re: Bo Jackson scouting report from 1982 Post by: N.AL-Tider on May 13, 2013, 10:18:19 AM Quote Will take very big bonus to sign - will have to match Auburn Univ. and alumni. Prophecy? :dunno:Title: Re: Bo Jackson scouting report from 1982 Post by: Hannibal Lecter, MD on May 13, 2013, 10:22:02 AM WOW! Is that real? Hard to say. They're presenting it as being factual. Regardless, I doubt there are many people who had any kind of knowledge of recruiting in 1982 that would argue Bo didn't get some cash. Title: Re: Bo Jackson scouting report from 1982 Post by: ricky023 on May 13, 2013, 10:56:08 AM Umm, sounds like like it was not to high a price he did say we only have to match. So you know BO wanted to play baseball bad. RTR!

Title: Re: Bo Jackson scouting report from 1982 Post by: cbbama99 on May 13, 2013, 05:33:31 PM Besides that last sentence, which is a doozy by the way, I find it interesting that he was playing SS at McAdory. The report acknowledges he was out of position. Wonder if they just didn't have anyone else to play that spot, or if the outfield was full.

It's no different than athletic kids playing QB in HS, even though their professional potential is elsewhere. They're just better athletes than anyone else available -- a SS handles the baseball a lot more than an outfielder.Title: Re: Bo Jackson scouting report from 1982 Post by: cbbama99 on May 13, 2013, 09:42:35 PM Besides that last sentence, which is a doozy by the way, I find it interesting that he was playing SS at McAdory. I'm used to seeing a Rafael Belliard type out there. |
