Title: Softball
Post by: crimsonmom on April 21, 2013, 02:46:40 PM
I really miss the in game reports for softball that we had when CRS first began. Just like football, those of us that love Alabama softball would meet in Rhoades Stadium forum to get updates and discuss all things softball. If anyone wants to start up again, please let me know.

Many of the softball games have had "in-games" but have been located in the Quad instead of Rhoades. Same with basketball, many posters seem to resist making that extra click or two to keep things organized. IDK

Looks like you made it home ok but I hate you had to leave because that's when the game really started.

You and I were discussing Traina and Jury and I'm not so sure that Jury hasn't closed the big gap between her and Traina after what I saw today. Traina is nowhere near the pitcher that she was last year but Jury bailed her out again, it was the reverse of that last year. traina hasn't got the stamina that she had last year and I'm wondering if the big weight loss might have something to do with this, is she dieting or did she work the weight off. If she is losing the weight by dieting, there goes her strength and stamina. Hats off to Jury though, she two hit this team last night and then came in today and shut them down again. Traina lost to them Friday night and almost lost again today.

Next week Bama travels to LSU and will that be an evermore catfight. Maybe the way Bama won today will light that fire under them that we all have been waiting on because they're gonna need it down there.

LOL!! I don't know, but something has changed with her that has really made a difference in her pitching, it could even be an injury that we all know nothing about. The same thing happened to Kelsi Dunne her senior year but it wasn't a weight loss that caused her problems, it was Rolando McClain.

There was no in-game thread for last night's Bama v. LSU game, which was televised on one of the ESPN networks.  Perhaps everyone was watching the draft?

Anyway, the game goes to extra innings.  Bama had bases loaded in the top of the eighth, but Traina and the last batter strike out, leaving the three runners on base.  LSU also gets bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth, two out and two strikes when their freshman batter hits it to left field for the win.

They lost 3-2. I did not know this was a Thurs-Fri-Sat series nor did I know the first game was on TV.

They play LSU again tonight at 6:00 and Saturday at 1:00. Neither game is televised.
