Not surprised, but I was hoping they might get into the 1st round.

So I'm guessing these 23 guys are the "sure things". They probably don't want to invite people and then have them not get picked like last year (Upshaw?). Then the story becomes all about how XXX came to NY but was passed over. Now there will be 9 different stories about how a guy wasn't invited but still went in the first round. So you end up with 9 positive stories instead of a handful of negative ones.

Most experts agree Eddie Lacy is the top RB in the draft. His chances of going in the first round are very good. Well, his measured times were unimpressive (just as one example his 40-yard dash time is the 15th fastest among draft RBs). Not horrible, but they didn't help his case. He also didn't finish the workouts for the scouts. One scout said he was out of shape and unprepared. Now, how lenient and understanding they are with that with him coming off an injury remains to be seen and will be largely subjective I'm sure. Anyway, I've seen nothing coming out of his Pro Day that suggests he helped himself. The highest I have seen is to the Bengals at # 21. They need a RB bad. Green Bay and Atlanta have late first rouind picks and they have a need for RB. I would like to see him go to one of those two. Used to be several RB's might be picked early in the first round, but that has pretty much changed, same goes for WR. Now, the early picks are DB's, LB, LT, & QB. A great DL prospect can go early, too. :popcorn2: |
