Mal Moore steps down as Alabama's AD

Mal Moore, who's been hospitalized since last week with pulmonary problems, has stepped down immediately as Alabama's athletics director.
The 73-year-old Moore is an institution at Alabama and has been a part of that university since the late 1950s when he played football there under the legendary Paul "Bear" Bryant. Moore will take on the title of special assistant to Alabama president Judy Bonner.
Moore will be remembered for a lot of things, but right there at the top will be his role in bringing Nick Saban to Alabama as head football coach.
