Tide's McCarron shrugs off the pain
Quarterback AJ McCarron embraced his role last season as one of the vocal leaders on Alabama’s national championship team.

And in his world, if you’re going to talk the talk, you better walk the walk.

McCarron did just that by playing through a painful rib injury during the final part of the season.

For obvious reasons, Alabama didn’t publicize how much McCarron was hurting. But his teammates knew, and McCarron wasn’t about to come out of the lineup.

This probably explains why receivers had to wait on a lot of underthrown deep balls the 2nd half of the season.

He also had the knee injury late in the season.

It is not as bad as the NFL but QB's in the SEC take a beating.

You know we had a another QB that had to play through some really bad pain. I believe it was Greg Mc. if I am wrong please correct me. My point is, we have some tough players at QB position it seems. RTR!

That is correct.  He had some ribs broken in the SEC Championship game but they kept it a secret until after the National Championship game against Texas.  He played with broken ribs for part of the Florida game and all of the Texas game.  Meanwhile Colt quit because he got hit on the funny bone and his arm tingled.
