Bad news for the football team. Brent Callaway, Eddie Williams, Dennis Pettway, and Tyler Hayes were arrested for a credit card crime. I saw this on another site but haven't seen any news release on it.

This is not good. We laugh when it happens at other schools but we all know it happens everywhere. I trust CNS will get the full details and deal with this. Depending on what exactly they did these guys may be gone.

Calloway's second arrest. The others were released on $60,000 bond. Sounds like a serious crime for that amount of bond money.

You have to wonder:  What WERE they thinking...or... WERE they thinking at all??  This doesn't qualify as  "seemed like a good idea at the time."  CNS will get the facts and a lot will depend on their attitudes.  But how can they be trusted to do the right thing?  So you guys are probably right in wishing them a fond farewell.

I think Callaway has been in trouble before, so he is probably gone this time.

Probably no choice.  These guys are looking at serious jail time.

President Bonner will probably be the Judge and the Jury of this as far as football is concerned, they all will probably be expelled from school. I think he's been in trouble a couple of times, seems like I remember something about a gun issue in his home town as being one of the times, but I could be wrong on this though.

Calloway was arrested for pot in October. Williams was arrested this Sunday for carring a concealed gun without permit.

They beat both of these guys up pretty bad. Getting kicked off the team is the least of their worries right now. These are serious offenses.

 #+ good report pmull. Listen they are not guilty until proved that way. I know CNS knows what he is doing and what he decides is good enough for me. I just hate to see young lives destroyed by stupidty when they are just getting started. RTR!

Anybody know what the University's policy is in a situation like this?  Is a student charged with a felony suspended from attending classes or anything like that?  Put on academic probation??

Man, this is just awful.  Horrible for the kids, horrible for the team, horrible for the University.  The good news is that there are many, many more good players and Coach Saban will keep steering the ship.  ROLL TIDE!!!

Man, I really hate to see this. You never want to see your school get a black eye over something so stupid. I also hate to see these young men giving in to something like this when they had so much else they could do with their lives. I agree, though, that if guilty, CNS and President Bonner have no choice but to boot them.

What a waste. Kick them off the team and out of school.

It appears the charges are different against Calloway.  The other three are charged with two counts of second degree robbery and posted $60K+ bail, whereas Calloway is charged with fraudulent use of a card only (apparently a debit card) and bail was $5K.

you just cannot fix "stupid"..and don't any of you bleeding hearts jump in and say, "oh, they are just college kids"..give them a break"..BS! I am sick and tired of that ..and have been since CNS came and cleaned house. You bleding hearts think everything is all roses and ice cream sodas...and that "kids" will be "kids"...I call BS on all that and any more you want to throw.

What these young men are pure and simple, are thieves and thugs, committing criminal acts..and they deserve what the crime requires..They do not require the U or CNS to pat their little hands and tell them, "oh, it's ok..you'll do better next time". And as far as "due process", hellfire, the police have statements from the thugs admitting the crimes!

Biq question is where the hell do "college students" get bail money like that? And so quickly. Maybe they used their Pell Grant $. HA!

How could any young person with half a brain think it is OK to attack a fellow student, rob him, and have the GALL to use the stolen debit card in the BAMA TRAINING FACILITY, of all places!  That is the height of stupidity and uncaring about what a privilege to be a BAMA player is.

If all this sounds like I am mad, hell, yeah, I'm mad..CNS and the staff, plus the players, plus the fans invest time, money, sweat, blood, tears, for the team and our reputation in college football..then here come 4 thugs who think they are bulletproof and can act any way they like and get away with it. Now we are subject to ridicule from everyone out there..you know they are saying, "well, BAMA is just like all the rest..they cheat and have criminal players". And I truly hate the crap the barners will have to say.

Yeah, I know it's only 4 Players..but the stink permeates the whole program! 

I really have to question if CNS and the staff understands and knows how to recognize and get rid of cancer like these players..they must have exhibited some character flaw(s) before all this crap...people don't just wake up one day and decide to commit a criminal act like this..they have either done it before, or planned it.

The NCAA pukes are basically responsible for this at BAMA and other colleges, when they outlawed athletic dorms ..at least back then coaches could keep some semblance of control (exceptions: Kenny and Joe Willie)

I sure hope to hell this is an abberation..and that CNS kicks these criminals to the curb...and d*mn soon!

BTW..should we re-visit the stupid players who got sent home prior to the BCS?  seems like there are more than 4 idiots on this team, and I say if CNS does not weed them out NOW we are in for a rude awakening, never mind all the 4 star and 5 star recruits, returning lettermen, etc.  Pasadena is a long way off.

Somehow I just don't believe this is a first time occurence for some or all of the four involved. Do you think the police, Tuscaloosa and University, are looking at any of the unsolved crimes that are on their list. :dunno:

It took us about 2 hours to learn there were admissions of guilt (Crimson White) and that ended our "due process".  HTH

I really hate hearing/reading about this.  If all the allegation are true, then they should be removed from the team.  I believe in giving a second chance, but not in all circumstances.  My question is who is the ring leader of this group?  Also, people called and praised Saban for kicking off some of Shula's recruits, now it is time to step up and take care of this in the proper way.  Also, I do know some high school coaches hide the relevant information from college coaches. 

The victim was white..why is this not a hate crime?  If the reverse were true, Jessie, rev Al, and the rest of the hate mongers would be down here in a heartbeat...funny, I don't hear their voices on this one.
