Title: The redistribution of $1.4 billion each year
Post by: BAMAWV on February 10, 2013, 12:47:28 PM
What can you buy for $1.4 billion a year? You can buy the most luxurious and costly royal presidency in history.

In comparison, British taxpayers spent just $57.8 million on the royal family.

Author Robert Keith Gray writes in “Presidential Perks Gone Royal” that Obama isn't the only president to have taken advantage of the expensive trappings of his office. But the amount of money spent on the first family, he argues, has risen tremendously under the Obama administration and needs to be reined in.

Gray told The Daily Caller that the $1.4 billion spent on the Obama family last year is the “total cost of the presidency,” factoring the cost of the “biggest staff in history at the highest wages ever,” a 50 percent increase in the numbers of appointed czars and an Air Force One “running with the frequency of a scheduled air line.”

Perspective: $1.4 billion is equal to spending seven times Mitt Romney’s entire net-worth every year. If Romney had to pay for Barack and Michelle’s lifestyle this year, he would have been bankrupted by the third week in February.

Now, can we please get back to talking about the evil, freeloading rich people, who didn’t build anything and who needs to "pay a little bit more."

I am not really all that disappointed with the President.  His term has been exactly the way I thought it would be.  What really disappoints me is the fact that we live in a country that would willingly elect such a man.  Of course the alternatives weren't too much better.

I agree with all. My problem with this guy is the fact he openly said he supported gay marriage and that is an abomination in the eyes of God. You may say oh not the God stuff again but since God has taken his hand off us we have went down and are still falling. He liked abortion, and this is not biblical. So I have to say if someone voted for this platform he is not a Christian in anyway. RTR!

Very true. But there is a huge block of voters that will vote democratic even if Bozo the Clown was their candidate. Toss in the entitlement crowd and the GOP loses on sheer numbers. I think you should have to earn your right to vote. Have something at stake. Only property owners and folks that actually pay taxes. Or perhaps simply require voters to SPELL democrat before they can vote for them!

Showing some ID would be a good start.  I know here in Crimson Red Alabama I had to show my ID before I voted.

Government doesn't mind asking a 50 year old to show ID before buying a pack of cigars.
