Title: More facility renovations due for teams at Bama Post by: Jamos on January 26, 2013, 09:44:14 AM I attended a meeting Thursday evening with Mal Moore being the guest speaker and he brought some good news for all of the sports programs and us fans.
In the upcoming months/years there will be some major improvements for all of the sports programs with baseball being the headliner. The goal at Bama is to make the entire sports program the best in the nation. He alluded to the fact that some of the programs have already had the success of being national champions but the goal is to get all of the programs at that level. Mal reimphasized what has been stated earlier, that when they can provide the best facilites in the country for the incoming athletes, they get the better athletes. Also the winning programs serve as an attractant for non-athlete students across the country to attend Bama. Baseball will get a major facelift with their facility. Per Mal, they have already hired an architect that provided a plan for the baseball stadium and he was really impressed with what he has seen. It seems the existing stadium will be renovated to compare to the better college stadiums in the nation. The track and field stadium renovation was just completed and it is very impressive. The indoor tennis facility is completed and again it is very impressive. Foster Auditorium had a facelift and it has been a big addition for the ladies basketball team. The softball team has a new indoor practice facility which has helped them tremendously. I'm sure I'm leaving out more information, but I think all of you can see what direction the sports program is going at Bama. They are wanting national championships in all sports, not from just a selected few. Mal was quick to say though, that the thanks for all of the new construction goes to Dr. Witt when he was the President of the University. Title: Re: More facility renovations due for teams at Bama Post by: pmull on January 26, 2013, 12:04:16 PM The facilities that have been built or renovated are very nice. I am glad the baseball facility is getting the attention it deserves. It has fallen behind SEC standards. The top recruits want to play in the best facilities. Coach Moore has done many things as AD but the facility improvements may be his crowning achievement.
Thanks for the information Jamos. #+ Title: Re: More facility renovations due for teams at Bama Post by: Leewillie on January 27, 2013, 09:14:00 PM Glad to hear that the baseball facilities will be upgraded.
