1/1/11 1/11/11 11/1/11 11/11/11 And if you take the last two digits of the year of your birth and add the age you are this year, the result is 111 (or 11 for anyone under the age of 12). Spooky? Spooky? No, that isn't spooky. If you were trying to calculate how old someone was knowing their birth year, how would you do it? Subtract the year they were born from the current year - i.e. 2011-birth year = age. So rearrange the formula and you have Age + birth year = 2011. Since you're only using the last two years of the birth year, you're essentially removing 1900 years. Thus age+birth year = 111. This should happen every time July 1st falls on a Friday, which should be once about every 7 years on average. Leap year keeps it from being exactly every 7 years on a steady rotation, but it still should average out to every 7 years.
