The same philosophy the Native Americans lived by. Respect the earth and all its elements. The Native Americans tried to win over the new Americans to their way of living....and look how far they got with it. But valuing bugs the same as humans? :-\ That is very weird. Only Buddhists (I think) believe it is a sin to kill anything, even a fly... While I do believe that humans were given a responsibility by God to rule and care for the earth (Genesis 1:28), but when you start putting that creation in equality to or above mankind, then that is where the line should absolutely be drawn.
