Title: Proposal to give bugs & plants same rights as humans.
Post by: KoKoPuf on April 13, 2011, 10:23:08 AM

Critical question: How will this affect ssmith general's bush hogging business? Will he be charged with a felony for mowing blackberries? Or destroying fire ant mounds?

I don't think will bother anything here in our country or State because it is in South America as far as I can see. It's on a Canda.com site also. I would sure enough be in trouble for pouring $3.75 gas on ant hills. RTR!

The Mother Earth philosophy.

The same philosophy the Native Americans lived by.  Respect the earth and all its elements.  The Native Americans tried to win over the new Americans to their way of living....and look how far they got with it.

But valuing bugs the same as humans? :-\  That is very weird.  Only Buddhists (I think) believe it is a sin to kill anything, even a fly...

Our country will never go for the Mother Earth philosophy. >:(

Quote
It also establishes a Ministry of Mother Earth, and provides the planet with an ombudsman whose job is to hear nature's complaints as voiced by activist and other groups, including the state.

So, how does one apply for such a job? "Yes sir, I talk to my flowers everyday, and you wouldn't BELIEVE the things they tell me."

And who would be eligible to speak for nature? Dr Doolittle? Ace Ventura? PETA officials?

This is beyond silly. While I do believe that humans were given a responsibility by God to rule and care for the earth (Genesis 1:28), but when you start putting that creation in equality to or above mankind, then that is where the line should absolutely be drawn.

I telling you right now that the only rights that cows, pigs and chickens have is the right to be sliced up into steak, ribs, and a bucket of the Colonel's finest.
