Title: Coach Chiznik Gone-Fear Grips Crimson Nation
Post by: Marshal Dillon on November 25, 2012, 01:11:14 PM
Wow, I am shocked.

Quote
Gene Chizik's star-crossed coaching career at Auburn is over.

The university fired him Sunday, AL.com has learned, after Auburn completed its worst season in 60 years Saturday.

Chizik told his assistant coaches Sunday and was to tell his players in a team meeting at 1 p.m.

I hate to create even more fear in our fans by posting this info on Petrino, but there will be panic in the streets when Petrino become coach at Aubarn.

2011/09/24  Alabama    38  -  Arkansas   14 W
2010/09/25  Alabama    24  -  Arkansas   20 W
2009/09/26  Alabama    35  -  Arkansas    7 W
2008/09/20  Alabama    49  -  Arkansas   14 W

These stats verify the dominance we can expect by his hiring. Our teams have averaged a measley 36.5 points against his ferocious defenses and his offensive genius has lit up Coach Saban for 13.75 points a game. What will we do, the end is near.

Four out of 14 SEC head coach positions are open now.  It's going to be interesting seeing how all this plays out and who lands what coach.  That may speak volumes about the perception of those in coaching circles about the states of the programs (except for Kentucky, which is more of a basketball school, anyway).

I have to admit that I am just as emotional about this as CNS is:

My biggest nightmare is probably going to occur, now that Chiznik is not coaching. He will be hired by ESPN, CBS, NBC, or someone to provide "expert" analysis during games and what the opposing coaches are doing wrong and how to fix it. It will be Bill Curry multiplied by 50 for its absurdity. No mention will EVER be made of his overall coaching record, time at Iowa State, or the fact he was fired, all we will hear about will be the 2010 NC.

I hope he stays at home and bakes cookies for awhile because ...
Beginning Dec. 1, Auburn will pay Gene Chizik $48,611 PER WEEK to NOT coach. He will get paid like this for the next 155 weeks.

As my Dad would say, good work if you can get it.

The beauty of Cheezedip getting fired is that he is just one more on the long list of coaches getting fired at Auburn and walking away with a pocketful of money. Now who do you think is the smarter one in all of these terminations of Auburn coaches in the past years, the coaches or the University. ;)

Aubarn AD Jacobs has announced a search committee of Mac Crawford, Bo Jackson, & Pat Sullivan. I wonder why Pat Dye is not part of the coaching search?

No doubt they selected their two biggest Auburn sports heroes to the coaching search. That way, if they hire another turkey, they take the blame, not the AD and President. Also, I think this means Petrino does not get hired.

Well I will be curious to see whose names hit the list first. Maybe Joker Phillips, or Coach Derek Dooley, oh no he won't go that low. Sorry. RTR!

SuperCoach did.  (It's just a coincidence that he started the pool and picked first.)

You know, I don't believe in conspiracy theories, but isn't this the SECOND time he has won a contest HE started. I'm sure it's a coincidence.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Now this thread is about the barn. Let's not start acting like the barn and floating conspiracy theories around (unless its about the Never To Yield Foundation, which I am sure SC is part of).  :tinfoil:
