Title: Tide hosting Dozens of Recruits During Iron Bowl
Post by: Marshal Dillon on November 23, 2012, 01:38:45 PM
I think we might see some changes in commitments.

 :lol2:

Quote
The Alabama Crimson Tide hopes to close out the season on Saturday with a big win over its in-state rival with dozens of elite recruits looking on as Nick Saban and his staff plan to host one of their biggest recruiting weekends of the season. In addition to hosting at least a dozen currently committed players, Alabama is also planning to host some of its top uncommitted prospects as well as a pair of big-name recruits currently committed to Auburn

Bama will have another top 5 recruiting class. CNS has our program in the best shape it has been in since the 70's. We will reload another good group of players like we have been doing since 2008.

The barn is about to start losing recruits. Now that most HS recruits are finished with their season they can put 100% attention on their recruitment and picking a school. The coaches have been in a partial dead period. They can host on campus offical and unoffical visits but they can not make in house or off campus visits. That is about to change. The barn is about to be hit with every negative recruiting tactic possible. No one knows if the barn coaching staff is in or out. What offense / defense will they run and how long before they can get the program turned around. If I am an SEC caliber recruit currently committed to the barn I would be looking at all my options.

Dee Liner, the highly rated DT will surely change so Saban can prepare him for the NFL. Auburn will be nothing but a bottomless pit for him.

I'd be surprised if CNS really recruited Liner. Too much baggage. R. Foster can kiss our Crimson azz also. JMO.

He may not be so much now Preacher, but I don't think we should touch him, regardless. He spit in our faces. He can go elsewhere.

He may not be so much now Preacher, but I don't think we should touch him, regardless. He spit in our faces. He can go elsewhere.

He needs to learn an important life lesson the hard way:  don't burn bridges if you don't have to.

I totally agree with you SC, the roads in our lives can lead in many directions but you never know when you may have to travel down those same roads again. I was hoping that Foster wouldn't get caught up in that Trooper/Luper circus of recruiting that the barn was so proud of but it happened. It will be interesting to see if he can be humble enough to try and work himself out of the mess in Lee County.

Knowing CNS for what his beliefs are, I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see him offer RF his guiding hand if the chance comes about, but it would happen only if RF is willing to play by the rules and guidelines that we are all so familiar with at Bama. It's sad when the fun and hip things you do in life overrule the right choices, but it is rewarding to see when that person has a second chance and turns his life into the right direction. JMHO ;)

I read on a barn board yesterday that RF was at the UGA game.

Yeah, his comments suggested he was looking at Georgia.  I figure he is not looking back at Bama, that bridge is burned.

Great! That means next Saturday we can give him a review session on the bridge burning lesson.

I'm all for second chances too, but Foster would have to show a little humility first.  Does he have it in him?  Only time will tell, but nothing he has done so far makes me believe he would swallow his pride and ask to come back.
