Title: Game notes: WCU vs Bama Post by: hscoach on November 17, 2012, 07:52:28 PM This is going to be short.
Congrats to Bama coaches and players on the win. Honestly you would have gotten a better effort from the backups. Offense: They move the ball at will with the first team as they should. What stood out to me was the missed combo block esp by Steen. He stayed on the other first guy too long. AJ accuracy was evident in this game and missing in the last, especially on the deep crossing routes. The OL was just too physical for this undermanned team. The good thing is the backups got in early and got a lot of game experience. Where was K Drake? The fumble by AJ was not forced. Defense: Like the O they were just too much for the WCU team. I am surprised the gained as many yards as they did. They put some points on the board. Bama played numerous players early. The backups got a lot of time and they missed too many tackles. Special teams: The biggest concern was the fumbles on the punts. That has to be cleaned up for close games. I didn't get to watch the game until late and did so on the computer. What really hurts is when they showed the bust on the plays on the goal line in the A&M game that could have been touchdowns if properly executed, esp the pick route at the end. Feel free to comment.
