I don't have a pay account at 247sports, but  :popcorn2: at that headline.  Where is the pick 'em thread on Chizik's firing date?

Finebaum and Bruce Feldman were laughing and incredulous at this article. The guy was a disaster at Nebraska, that's how he landed at Louisville.

It sounds like he is more qualified than Chizik was.

When I checked the Barn boards yesterday about this article, they dismissed this as a Bama conspiracy. I am not kidding, this was an effort by us to get Auburn fans fired up and embarrass them. Of course, I don't know how we can embarrass them more than they have been.

 ???

I checked the barns boards as well. Some dismissed this as a Bama (REC) rumor. Others said Shawn Watson was a smoke screen to draw attention while they talk to Petrino, Jimbo Fisher, Gruden and all those other names they are talking about. They think they can get any coach they want if you pay them more than they are making at their current job. Those barn fans crack me up.

Finebaum made an interesting comment a couple of days ago about Jimbo Fisher. Fisher was being interviewed on TV and was highly complimentary of the Auburn program and it seemed to Finebaum he was sending a message to the Auburn BOT and others about his interest in the job.

The absolute worst part of this Chiznik firing is now he will end up on ESPN, SportsSouth, SEC Network, or other network to give his "expert" opinion during a game. He will be just like Bill Curry, pontificating as if he was one of the greatest coaches ever. Plus, we will have to listen to them introduce Chiznik before every game and talk about his NC. There will be ZERO mention of his other years of coaching.
