Title: Accountability for Dad of 5 Donations
Post by: SUPERCOACH on April 08, 2011, 10:41:33 PM
Thanks to everyone who helped with the donations to Dad of 5.  I wanted to be accountable for the money you all trusted me with, but in such a way as to keep the donations anonymous.  So what I came up with is that I will post the last 4 digits of your receipt number from PayPal here along with your amount.  Everyone can double check their receipt number against the amount shown here.  If anyone's donation is missing from this list, please let me know.  That way everyone can be assured that their donation made it to Dad of 5.

The PayPal fee was 30 cents + 2.9% of the donation for each transaction.

I just rounded it up to $650 and mailed him a cashiers check from the bank earlier today.  He will probably get it in the mail tomorrow or Monday.

I am honored to be part of such a generous group that would do something like this for a friend in need.  I spoke with Dad of 5 today and he said that he is "grateful for everyone's generosity" and that this "will help us a lot".

Please continue to pray for him and his kids.  Their burden is more than I could ever imagine.

Thanks, SUPERCOACH.

I know the money will help, but our continued prayers will help even more.

You scared me with the title of this thread.  I feared the worst about the fate of donations.  Thanks for helping.

I forgot to mention that this only includes the donations that were collected through our web site.  I know several people sent money directly to the church.

^^^^THIS...is what makes this forum the "forums of all forums".  What the hell was the name of that other place, anyway??   :-\

I've only seen one disgruntled poster here since the forum's inception.  I hope that's the accurate count.  I have a feeling the good people here are self-enforcing our high levels of mature discussion and won't allow it to denegrate into something akin to those other pacles.
