Title: Conspicuous Absence of Bama Coverage
Post by: ALTideUp on October 28, 2012, 10:05:51 AM
Just visited the ESPN college fb homepage to find stories about ND, KSU, the largest cluster-f in college football that transpired in Jacksonville, etc. but not a word about the #1 team in the country beating an unbeaten SEC opponent. Hmmm?  I hope we are not seeing the beginning of a media campaign to get some fresh new faces in the NCG.

I noticed that too.  Seems odd.  Best way to deal with stuff like this is to keep winning games.

Oh boy, here we go with the "Alabama don't get no respect," or "the media is ignoring the Tide," or "how come Alabama ain't the lead story across the planet," or just fill-in-the-blank. Why can fans NEVER be satisfied? It makes me want to scream.

but BAMA dropped from 3rd to 7th in one of the #BCS computers.  :lol2:

now AJ is 7th in the HT voting too http://promo.espn.go.com/espn/contests/nissan/heisman/2012/ballot/leaderboard

I would disagree that we are not getting respect from the media. The big story in college football is not who should be No. 1. Everyone agrees it is Bama. The big story is who is No. 2.

Not to give MD even more dyspepsia, but I was surprised to see the Heisman watchers evaluated AJa performane as neutral - neither gaining or losing ground.

Not a matter of dyspepsia, just a matter of fans always finding something to whine about, even though we are rated #1, EVERYONE agrees Saban is the best coach in college football, and Alabama the best program. For some fans, it is still not enough. Besides nonstop adulation, slovenly admiration & love for the Alabama program, what else do you want? I await an answer. By the way, that's how ALL fans of all programs act, it is not peculiar to Tide fans.

Bingo! My point exactly. We could be getting the kind of "attention" Aubarn is getting.

Well I am satisfied where we are and I want it to be whatever they do. We just got to keep winning and that is all we need. Let us beat LSU and then there will be more and more excitement. RTR!

There was even an article about what all the national writers are saying about Alabama.

I used to have this mindset that the national media was totally against Bama. My mind has changed over the past few years, mainly due to CNS. Let's face it, what coverage did we deserve during the Shula and (to an extent) Dubose and Franchione years? Now, we are back at the top of the CFB world, and boys, it isn't close. Notice no one is arguing from week-to-week who No. 1 will be. Until (heaven forbid) the Tide loses, they will be on top. And Bama is overwhelming EVERY opponent. It stops being a top story when the No. 1 team in the nation hasn't allowed a team to get within 21 points of it and has trailed through eight games this year for a total of 15 seconds. That is domination, folks. All that matters is the Tide keeps winning. Have no fear, if the record gets to 14-0, there is no doubt who will dominate the headlines. ROLL TIDE!!!
