Title: Tyrann Mathieu, 3 others arrested
Post by: Jamos on October 25, 2012, 06:25:23 PM
Well I guess Les Miles is getting Mathieu in shape to bring him back, his rehab seems to be doing wonders for him.

No wonder Jefferson looked lost & confused in the BCSCG. I guess this means the honey badger is history at LSU.

Mathieu and former LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson were charged with simple possession of marijuana, the Baton Rouge police department said in a release.

Former Tigers safety Karnell Hatcher also was charged with simple possession while former defensive back Derrick Bryant was arrested for possession with intent to distribute.

Well I hate to see young lives wasted but it looks like drugs are more desired than football honesty. Class has left teams and that is why I am proud to call Nick Saban the football coach at the University of Alabama. RTR!

What a waste of good talent...he's history now. With his background as of now, no college will take him in... :(

I was pulling for Mathieu. I hoped he would seek help and get his life turned around in a positive direction. It does not look like the rehab helped. It is ashame to see a young man with his talent throw everything away. I do not like his bleached hair, dirty play on the field or the way he runs his mouth. But, I do pull for young men to succeed in life. Football is most likely over for him. He needs to make some lifestyle changes including separating himself from old friends or he is heading for big trouble.

In the immortal words of our hero, Forrest Gump, a Great American:

"stupid is as stupid does".

Ol honey badger gon' be somebody's "honey"....

CNS looks more and more like a real man and a great coach.

And the barn can burn in hell.

It appears that Sports Illustrated ran their cover story on Tyrann a couple of weeks too early.  I actually felt a little sorry for him after I learned more about his background.  From what I read there though, it seemed to me that his rehab efforts were sorta half-hearted.  He had cut the bleached hair and was supposedly making progress in the classroom and working out but he hadn't separated himself from his old friends that were a negative influence.  It often takes losing everything to turn someone around.  To me what he had already lost would have been enough to make a difference but apparently he didn't see it that way.  I suppose he really hadn't lost that much.  His punishment didn't amount to much more than a little embarassment and SI was doing a story on him and Les had more or less left the door open for him to return .  I think that door is closed now along with any shot he had at an NFL career.

After Mathieu, 20, gave the police his consent to search the apartment, officers discovered a marijuana grinder, a digital scale and 10 bags of high-grade marijuana, including seven in Bryant's backpack, according to the report.
This guy really is dumb!

If he were only as smart as Cam, he could have said "who is it" and "just a minute" while he threw the stuff out the window.

Or don't give permission for a search.  He could flush it all while the police are trying to secure a warrant, but since the investigation concerned George Jefferson going past security, and not drugs, probably no warrant would have issued.
