I loved Gottfried as a player and liked him as our coach for the first 7 or 8 years. Something happened and he lost his desire to coach and work as hard as he needed to. He never did develop players as well as some coaches do. It was time for him to move on. Don't think he has the mindset to keep teams focused when they have high expectations. Just my opinion.
