Title: Pmull's autographed Coach Saban Picture
Post by: pmull on October 07, 2012, 07:46:15 AM
My oldest daughter gave me a framed Coach Saban picture this weekend. One of her best friends from high school is a student worker in the athlectic department. She was able to get a co-worker to stick this request in with about 25 others for him to sign.

BTW, the "p" in pmull stands for Phil.

I have a picture with Coach Bryant. I'd have gotten a haircut had I known how many people have seen it through the years. Cool, pmull.

I have a signed copy of the book "Bear" by Bear Bryant. Just this week I mailed a copy of Coach Stallings book "Another Season" to him to get it signed. They said it may take three months before it is returned. I had no idea I was getting this picture when I mailed the book to Coach Stallings.

I have kept a handwritten "Thank You" note Mary Harmon Bryant penned after Coach Bryant died. I often use it as an example of how much more meaningful a handwritten correspondence can be, and also a reminder of kinder, more genteel days.

My mother was a friend of Mary Harmon. The Bryants sent us a wedding present when I was married, but can't recall what it was!

WOW! Was it a Sugar Bowl trophy? Can't have too many of those. Imagine Coach Bryant, "I'll bet they don't have one of these!" Now I need to be nicer to you.  :-[

I am imagining a scenario where you're in divorce court and you're soon to be ex is wondering, "why does he want that butter dish so bad". Or having to trade a car for it. Bless y'alls hearts.

Well, I think your hand-written note is more valuable than a serving dish or whatever. We are both fortunate to have a link to history.
