Title: Is this the first ever portrait of Jesus?
Post by: Kupkake on April 03, 2011, 02:18:03 PM
A very interesting article and how appropriate that it is published on the fourth Sunday of Lent.  http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1372741/Hidden-cave-First-portrait-Jesus-1-70-ancient-books.html (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1372741/Hidden-cave-First-portrait-Jesus-1-70-ancient-books.html)

I don't know if it is or not. I have never read or heard of anything to substantiate this. I am not dismissing it but I have no knowledge of it. God Bless!

Here's another blog from a scholar who was sent pictures of some of the items last year.  He's the one who examined the greek and noted the misformed letters.  He translated the text and recognized where it was copied from, as well.
