Title: Anger over Quran burning spreads in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan – Anger over the burning of the Muslim holy book at a Florida church fueled a second day of deadly violence half a world away in Afghanistan, where demonstrators set cars and shops ablaze Saturday in a riot that killed nine protesters, officials said.

The church's desecration of the Quran nearly two weeks ago has outraged millions of Muslims and others worldwide, fueling anti-American sentiment that is further straining ties between the Afghan government and the West... I am just as disappointed in the "Christian" groups that conduct these actions as I am as the other "Christian" groups that protest Soldiers' funerals.

I understand they have their right to believe what they want and interpret the bible as they will (but they need to realize that others have the same right).  A common denominator in all of it should be peace and tolerance, especially if you are going to claim to be a Christian.  We don't have to agree with what others are doing but we don't have to spit in their faces either.

It is especially cowardly to me for the one's that instigated the Quran burning to do so knowing that the lives of soldiers and peacekeepers are on the line worldwide.  Justify to me what good came from the idiotic publicity stunt which served no good other than to incite the other fringe elements of the Muslim faith to retaliate against US and UN soldiers while they slept comfortably at home.

Very disappointing.  There are elements within the Christian faith that are just as dangerous and radical as any within the Muslim faith.

I support freedom of religion, but the irresponsibility of these actions and pure hate that they demonstrate and invoke from others in retaliation should be criminal acts IMO.  Frankly, I have no use for these groups.  Especially as they do so under the guise of Christianity.  They need to re-look the fundamentals of their beliefs as their actions are not Christian by any interpretation of the phrase.

This guy is far from what I understand Christianity. I can understand why those non-believers are mad, I would be too. Even if I was lost as a goat and someone burnt my Bible or whatever book I lived by whether wrong or right, I would be mad as a dog. What they did on TV was wrong. The Quran doesn't mean anything why give this book Props it doesn't deserve? RTR!

I agree with both of you guys.  It is very disappointing.  I think some of these people are the ones referred to by this scripture:

But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.  Matthew 19:30 NIV

A lot of these people are exactly like the Pharisees and Sadducees from the New Testament.
