Title: Hunt and Larsen Power Softball to a 7-0 Victory Post by: pmull on April 01, 2011, 09:54:58 PM COLUMBIA, S.C. - The No. 1 ranked Alabama softball team used a grand slam from senior Whitney Larsen and a pair of home runs from freshman Kaila Hunt to down South Carolina, 7-0 in the series opener, Friday night at Beckham Field. With the win, the Crimson Tide improves to 35-2 on the season and 10-1 in Southeastern Conference play.
Senior Kelsi Dunne held the Gamecock (17-16, 3-11 SEC) bats at bay as the right-hander struck out 12 and allowed just two hits to move to 17-1 on the year. Hunt batted 3-for-4 with two home runs and two RBI. The pair of homers moves her season total to eight on the year.
