Title: Thought question... Post by: N.AL-Tider on September 19, 2012, 08:16:51 AM Inevitably Alabama will eventually lose a game, maybe this year, maybe not but, it is bound to happen eventually. Would you rather Bama lose to a non-conference team or an SEC opponent? If you would prefer another SEC team be the one to beat us who would you choose?
Personally, I think I would rather it come at the hands of another SEC team just not UcheaT or Awbren. LSU beating us wouldn't bother me nearly as much as either of those teams would. So whatdayasay? Post by: Hannibal Lecter, MD on September 19, 2012, 08:25:51 AM First off, if we get through the five week stretch of Missou, Tennessee, Miss St, LSU, and TA&M this year it will be a minor miracle and a real testament to the resiliency of this team. That's a really, really rough stretch. All 5 of those teams will likely see the top 25 at some point this season.
But back to your question - using next year as an example, the perfect loss would be to Virginia Tech to open the year. If we ran the table from there out and won the SEC, we'd work ourselves back into the BCSNCG likely. Typically the impact of a loss grows each week of the season. Perhaps I took a less emotional approach to the question than the way you were intending it. I want to beat Auburn more than anyone on the schedule year in and year out of course. Grasshopper, your question is misaligned with the process. According to the philosophical tenets of Sab-Zen, the concepts of winning and losing themselves are mental constructions that alter reality in ways that impede che. According to the teachings of Sab-Zen, we play in the moment, hands, feet, eyes, mind, all working in harmony to create a state of football-being-in-the-moment, approaching a state of football perfection. What results from that state, or what is expected of the team, is someone's else's reality, someone else's meaning frame. Sab-zen teaches us to play within our own reality through the self-exercise of our own self-determination, aight. Title: Re: Thought question... Post by: Chechem on September 19, 2012, 08:34:26 AM Our luck with scheduling seems to have fizzled. Before the season it appeared that were sitting fat: no UGA, UF, or USCe.
Now the elephant-in-the-room game appears to be Mississippi State. They are tough and competitive. But, the biggest problem is that we play them the week before traveling to LSU (and LSU has an off week then). Unless LSU unravels before that week, they'll be favored, and we'll have a tough time winning there. :wall: Title: Re: Thought question... Before the season it appeared that were sitting fat: no UGA, UF, or USCe. We always have to face Miss State, so that will never change. There is some scheduling luck with no UGA UF or USC, but that 5 game stretch which has us playing at LSU with game 4, after LSU has a bye week, didn't do Bama any favors. Now the elephant-in-the-room game appears to be Mississippi State. We will not lose another game until the 5th anniversary of CNS retirement. :D Title: Re: Thought question... Post by: ricky023 on September 19, 2012, 10:48:50 AM Well I would rather it be an SEC team like LSU even though they will have all this hoopla but then the one that beat us would probably win the BCSNCG again. It will take some extreme prowess to get through that 5 game stretch this year. RTR!
