Title: "Jimbo Fisher's the Nick Saban protege most ready for his close-up" Post by: Chechem on September 19, 2012, 05:04:18 AM http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2012/09/jimbo_fishers_the_nick_saban_p.html
Quote It was a big game on a big stage It was his first really big shot to put on his big-boy shoes, pants and headset and give some indication that he may be capable of becoming a big shot in his own right. That was the build-up to College GameDay on Rocky Top for Derek Dooley last weekend. He didn't exactly rise to meet the moment. Three quarters of hope followed by a fourth quarter of frustration added up to Florida 37, Tennessee 20. One game doesn't determine a legacy, or define a legacy's ability, but three years into his tenure, it's becoming increasingly clear that the Tennessee coach has light years to go to be anything like the next Vince Dooley or another Nick Saban.... Big game this weekend...battle of undefeateds...fighting for top dog in the extreme tough ACC ()...but let's not get carried away and just give FSU the national title in the next couple of years. In order to be the man you gotta beat the man. When he beats Saban, Miles, and Meyer...then we can start the Jimbo Fisher is Awesome fanclub. More than likely any team that wins a championship in the next 5-7 years will have to come through the SEC in general and more than likely through Bama or LSU specifically. Fisher is good, but I am not ready to put him in the "big boys" club just yet...even if he wins this weekend.
