Touchdown Radio Productions, featuring College Football Hall of Famer Gino Toretta (Miami, Fla.) as the color analyst, has released its 2012 schedule. ESPN has revealed its talent pairings for the 2012 college football season. 2011 NFF Outstanding Contribution to Amateur Football award honoree Brent Musburger will again pair with 2006 Outstanding Contribution to Amateur Football award co-recipient Kirk Herbstreit in the Saturday Night Football package on ABC. College Football Hall of Famer Chris Spielman (Ohio State) will now work alongside Sean McDonough on ABC's afternoon telecasts, while 1995 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Danny Kanell (Florida State) will also call ABC afternoon games with Bob Wischusen. 1994 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Joey Galloway (Ohio State) has been tabbed as a color analyst for ESPN2 afternoon telecasts alongside Beth Mowins. College Football Hall of Famer Andre Ware (Houston) will continue to serve as the color analyst on the network's syndicated SEC Network package with play-by-play commentator Dave Neal. NFF Board Member and College Football Hall of Famer Troy Aikman (UCLA) will again return as Fox's lead NFL color analyst, the network announced this week. Aikman will team with Joe Buck to provide the network's top duo for the 11th consecutive season. Dan Alvarez, the son of 2011 College Football Hall of Famer Carlos Alvarez (Florida), has posted a blog about his father here. Michigan will recognize College Football Hall of Fame brothers Albert, Alvin and Francis Wistert as Michigan Football Legends during the 2012 season. The Paul Hornung Award has announced its 2012 watch list. The award is named after College Football Hall of Famer Paul Hornung of Notre Dame. Jimmy Haslam III, the son of NFF Board Member Jim Haslam, has purchased the Cleveland Browns for $1 billion. College Football Hall of Fame coach Lou Holtz was inducted into the Upper Ohio Valley Hall of Fame last week. 2012 NFF Hampshire Honor Society member Josh Renel has been named the Wayne State (Mich.) 2011-12 Male Student-Athlete of the Year. Eastern Kentucky, Ole Miss and Westminster (Pa.) have joined the NFF as Institutional Academic Members. The NFF Institutional Academic Membership Program allows the NFF to greatly enhance the power of football's collective voice while actively building a stronger national platform for the game with community leaders, educators, and the media.
