The Executive Committee of Alabama's Board of Trustees  unanimously approved the immediate construction of a new, 34,495-square foot, two-story strength and conditioning facility today during a conference call.

Situated between the Crisp Indoor Practice Facility and the Mal M. Moore Athletic Facility, the new, steel-supported building is expected to be ready for January 2013.

No, more like Tuscaloosa fat cats self nominate their successors to their 12-2 rubber-stamping, kangaroo court majority that builds $15,000,000 Tuscaloosa frat houses, no questions asked, then behind closed doors breaking the state sunshine law, take the on campus stadium off the board agenda without even listening to the study they themselves commissioned. Then they stick their heads in the sand when students, politicians, business groups, and media in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa speak against them. There's Paul Bryant Jr's shady business dealings in insurance and gambling/dog track operation (which he so eloquently referred to as catering to a 'lower class type of black') There's the tampering with previous UAB football coaches Pat Sullivan and Jimbo Fisher and paying their man Callaway more money than Fisher was to get!

This should not be publicly funded period. I am tired of being fleeced by these state agencies. Build it when you can afford it . This state has to much debt.

I guess raising over $15,000,000 and selling out 34 luxury suites for a minimum of 5 years in addition to the donations is not enough for UAB. Nice little double standard.
