ETA: Nevermind. I read the article and definitely see the problem. The parts quoted here don't put the trooper in a bad light. This is precisely why the NCAA was right to disembowel the entire Penn State football program. This illustrates that the corruption of values is not limited to a few coaches, rogue administrators or wealthy boosters. It's a rancid marinade in which entire communities soak. Not only is this cop making an exception for a football player, the idol worship of the coach is oozing from this guy. He's a big man cause he gets to call coach about this. It's pathetic really.
