Title: "The older the better among SEC football coaches" Post by: Chechem on July 23, 2012, 06:28:20 AM http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2012/07/the_older_the_better_among_sec.html
Quote It may be a young man's game between the lines, but on the sideline in the SEC, the older, the better. Look at the league's five most senior citizens. Spurrier is 67, followed by John L. Smith (63), Saban (60), Pinkel (60) and Les Miles (58). They have some things in common beyond touches of gray. Every one of them has won at least 100 games as a college head coach. Every one of them has won multiple division and/or conference championships. Three of the five have won a national championship... Saban and Spurrier are probably the best of the SEC, in that order, followed by Miles and Pinkel. Smith is a space filler.

Spurrier could probably be a little better if he quit talking so much and worked harder. Having class means more than out smarting recruits. JMHO. RTR!
