That's pretty good insight into Coach Bryant during the 1960s.  I was a rabid fan of those Bama teams when Bob Childs was a star.

Thanks for the post, OP.  #+

My brother went to high school with Richmond Flowers at Lanier in Montgomery. Flowers dad ran against George Wallace for governor in the 60's. RF was a great talent. Never understood why he went to UT.

Good to see Bob.  He, Richmond and I were in the same HS sr class at Sidney Lanier in Montgomery.  Richmond went to UT because he thought they had a better track program than Bama, and at the time he was probably right.  He wanted to run in the Olympics but I think he pulled a hammy around the time of the trials and never made it.

Now that you mention it, my brother did tell me that. So as it turns out, McB, you and my brother went to high school together. He was the one who couldn't get a date.  Sometimes I kid my big brother.  :D

Ha!  There were lots of guys in that sr class who couldn't get dates.  I had a 'steady' so didn't have to worry about it.
