My grandfather was a huge Alabama fan, also. We tried all night to pick the game up on the radio, without success. When we found out Bama had beaten USC 17-10 the next morning, my grandfather and I were grinning from ear to ear. I don't think I had ever seen him happier than he was at that moment.

that was a great time in Alabama history I had my suitcase packed to head to Tuscaloosa after those two bad seasons I figured I could sneak off from Coach Riley long enough to catch the eye of one of the football coaches ... but it wasn't in the stars , glad it worked out for the football team though !
