Folks, Bama basketball is in trouble.

Baker admitted during a meeting with Alabama officials on Wednesday to being "Staff Member 1" in the FBI complaint, according to a source.

Then, on or around August 31, Michel set up a meeting at a restaurant in Atlanta with Staff Member 1, CW-1 and the father of a highly-ranked incoming freshman at Staff Member 1's school.

The purpose of the meeting, which CW-1 recorded on audio and video, was for Staff Member 1 to introduce the father to CW-1 in an effort to begin influencing the father to push his son to hire CW-1 upon turning pro.

During that meeting, CW-1 gave Michel approximately $10,000 in cash to give to Staff Member 1.

While the incoming player wasn't named, five-star point guard Collin Sexton is from the Atlanta area.

I guess we won't see Sexton playing this year. Now I'm worried about our other recruits and the job of of Coach Johnson. Not looking good right now. Plus, the NCAA is going to hammer all the programs in this scandal.

None of this impacts the kids eligibility or is in violation of NCAA rules.  If that is all of it, I don't see an issue for the University.

Right now, I'm with S'COACH on this one.  Baker took a bribe.  But I haven't seen yet where any of that $$$ got to Sexton.  Or any evidence that Sexton even knew about the meeting.

If guys are declared ineligible as a result of meetings between coaches and agents (or agents reps), the probably half the guys playing college BB would thrown out.  Don't see that happening.

So far -- and it's still early yet -- Bama has acted quickly to determine it's liability in this matter.  We need to all pray that there is not more to come out.

Not saying it couldn't change, but let's just hope this is all there is to it. I think CAJ is a man of character and runs a pretty tight ship. I would be surprised if there was complicity on his part, and would also be surprised if Sexton got paid and CAJ knew nothing about it.

Hope you're right.  BUT... I've been listening to the interviews with those who know the inside stories, about the length and depth of the investigation, and the hours of tapes and videos of coaches.  
I'm afraid that these violations have gone on so long that many schools jumped aboard to keep up with recruiting, hoping the toothless NCAA wouldn't care.  Then the Feds got involved...
