If you want a close comparison he's almost a spitting image of Andrew Luck just more athletic and elusive, maybe the best QB Saban has signed, and were talking days, weeks at most, he will be committed by the end of this month

What's wrong with his profile picture
93  Around Campus / The Quad / HUGE Commit coming soon on: June 05, 2011, 11:48:29 PM
Considered by most to be the top QB in the nation and the 19th best player according to Rivals
94  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: SIAP: SI names Bama seventh best job on: June 05, 2011, 11:45:04 PM
Well everybody knows Alabama should be ahead of LSU & Georgia, but the talent rich a area the best job is probably Montana.
1. They get to play in the snow.
2. It is cool in Spring Practice.
3. The summer time has rain and wind for cooler days at practice.
4. It is a beautiful location.
Now how could you beat this for a coaching job? RTR!

I thought the same thing about U of Nevada in Reno, some beautiful country and less than a days drive from beach, lake, and mountains to ski awesome area

I trust our recruiters.

I don't trust Texas' recruiters.
That's all.

I approve this message and sentiment
96  Around Campus / The Quad / GREAT news this afternoon on: May 28, 2011, 03:35:35 PM
We really worked some MAJOR OT this past week getting offers out and touching base with out of state guys & found one we believe to be a MAJOR diamond in the rough, not hardly ANY attention yet, but his film is so impressive, best I've seen since Dareus, much faster seriously, a little lighter as well, but power is comparable, and his other offers are Arizona, Kansas, & SMU, so as soon as we offered we shot up to the top of his list and we will get a commitment soon. Just as good sideline to sideline on film as Clowney from last year, video is so grainy though LoL since it's a small high school.

His name is Donald Hopkins from Lago Vista HS in Texas, his measureables are 6'3 270, much larger frame. An opposing HS coach was reviewing video who knows Coach Davis & sent him the video & as soon as he saw it he showed it too Coach Saban & Saban called him that same afternoon, that tells you how impressive this kid is.

Also got great news from Gunner Kiel, it looks as if he will be our QB prospect in this class, strange how Jameis Winston's recruitment has sort of become much more shady lately (preaches for months about playing baseball and visiting baseball coaches, then all of a sudden takes a trip to a program with a nonexistent bball program in Ohio St and a program whose department is stqring down major sanctions, and says it's the best, he's so impressed blah blah blah, when I KNOW Bama and FSU have better facilities etc.) and we've invited him for visits a few more times like he said he weanted and he hasn't contacted or set up any more dates when he has been to FSU like 4 times in the past 2 months so I woul;dn't count him totally out, but Gunner is higher on the board as well, also Gunner coming gives us a HUGE leg up on Dorial Green-Beckham since they are really good friends
97  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: Trevor Lacy on: May 18, 2011, 05:36:22 PM
Found an extended story on al.com with in-depth quotes & video

Quote
HUNTSVILLE, Alabama -- Trevor Lacey, a 6-foot-4 and 190-pound shooting guard from Butler High School who was one of only two Rivals five-star basketball players unsigned as of today, has ended months of speculation with his announcement that he's heading to Alabama.......

98  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: Don't Count Out Auburn or Chiznik This Year on: May 18, 2011, 08:41:26 AM
Well considering they lost their WHOLE OL & will be starting either a veteran benchwarmer that couldn't beat out Kodi Burns & they were so worried about him starting last year they sold the BARN (pun very MUCH intended) to the tune of $180,000 to get $Cam to come play QB & even are trying desperately to get ACC Retread Russell Wilson now to save them from him this year, or a 175 lb true freshman (& I don't care what HS offense he ran in Arkansas, he's 175 lbs and a TF QB doesn't usually fare well in the SEC ESPECIALLY without an experienced OL)

The Barn is in bad shape this year, Gus MIGHT squeak out 2 or 3 extra wins with his whirlish durvy offense, but it'll be an interesting year down on the plains
99  Around Campus / The Quad / Trevor Lacey & more on Dillon Lee on: May 18, 2011, 08:33:43 AM
Hey Guys, I know my posts are few & far between these days, but with relief efforts every day (& big ups to my boy Justin Tuck who was here helping last week & is a HUGE Alabama fan, just went to ND because he wasn't recruited by Shula) & what CAN be the busiest time in the recruiting process, handing out offers & staying up late nights to eval it has been super chaotic.

Trevor Lacey WILL commit to Bama today at 2PM, it's a MONUMENTAL signing for CAG & the Bball team, will take our program to a whole new level, if there was ever any doubt about how effective Coach Grant was going to be in the state with recruiting what is a pretty great bball state talent wise, he has blown the hinges off the door of the pipeline this year, a door that seemed to only be open for ELITE level programs & what CAG & staff sold to kids was becoming ELITE in the SEC with THEIR help & it was a SLAM DUNK. As for his talent I'll STILL side with my buddy Pettway & agree that this is Bama's biggest signing since Mr one & done Gerald Wallace & maybe the biggest CLASS ever. Pettway told me they envision Lacey having the stuff to put the team over the top & a very dangerous scorer who can put up 30+ easily and add another level of perimeter D the way Senario did WITHOUT offensive shortcomings. Next year's team is gonna be a monster guaranteed

Now let's move to Dillon Lee. Saban was really the 1st on the scene with Dillon & make NO mistake, if UGA had offered early enough we likely wouldn't have snagged him, but he is easily one of the top LB's on our board, not as high as Reggie, but higher than Kwon simply because Saban covets guys with the ball & cover skills he has already and the football instincts & IQ, & he's a guy that has been a leader of his HS D for a while & played his position long enough to really have a great grasp on it. Not as athletic as Kwon, but a much larger body & wingspan which makes him outstanding in coverage and blitzing, easily will add 30 or so pounds to his frame, really him & Reggie already is a GREAT duo at LB already signed & for those worried about him being stolen by UGA, & the AJC hinted at it but forgot to mention he'll be attending camps at Bama, but he is DONE with recruiting & already called all coaches & told them as much & he won't be fielding any more calls etc. his read & react skills are off the charts like NFL level impressive, he sifts through traffic well & stands up & engages blockers very well on blitzes and run support, loves to hit & has great tackling technique & very vocal leader, not fast, but appears a lot quicker than fast, but a lot of that is also the reacting speed he has to plays. It was a HUGE COUP to pull him out of UGA & away from UGA & FSU & WE GOT A GOOD'UN make no mistake about it

Next commit I'm guessing will be a CB, we've been making a lot of offers lately, Terry Richardson is one to watch (he commits tomorrow) from Cass Tech in Detroit, Mi

It's not like Alabama hasn't already had enough tragedy to deal with in the wake of the recent tornado disaster, which must make today's devastating news all the tougher to face.....

You guys pray ok

103  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: ***DE Ryan Anderson commits*** on: April 17, 2011, 12:46:51 PM
Also ESPN's quick note/eval:

Quote
Alabama has picked up a Class of 2012 commitment from Ryan Anderson, a defensive end/linebacker from Daphne HS (Daphne, Ala.).

The 6-foot-2, 240-pound Anderson chose the Tide over Illinois, Kentucky, Memphis, South Alabama, South Florida, Tennessee and Alabama-Birmingham.

ESPN's Craig Haubert said of the news, "Alabama got a verbal from Ryan Anderson a defender we like on tape. Watching Anderson play, it is easy to see that the Crimson Tide are getting a physical football player as he plays with an aggressive and punishing nature."

"He has good size coupled with good speed and a motor that helps make him dangerous and productive in pursuit. He could start out and play the hybrid linebacker position for Alabama but could also potentially develop into a five-technique for them as well. He is tough to block as he can play with bend and is violent with his hands. He also shows flashes as a pass rusher, but this one area where it seems he could use a little more method to his madness. Anderson is a good football player and tough kid and we feel is a nice pick-up for Alabama?s front seven."

Anderson had 75 tackles, 14.5 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, and one interception as a junior.

Kinda upsetting though that T.J. Yeldon didn't show with him, he went to AU instead?!?!?!?!? RA told he had NO IDEA why, they were even talking a few days ago about how excited both were about coming in. AU is at it again
104  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: Aday discussion on: April 17, 2011, 09:40:36 AM
Definitely has to get better. Jay has a great leg but is inconsistent and its the same with Cade, I think that is definitely gonna be our biggest thing to work on
105  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: Aday discussion on: April 17, 2011, 08:43:25 AM
It's a lot tougher now to say Sims like I said through the 1st 2 scrimmages after yesterday with McCarron's performance yesterday he worked through progression a lot more but was still impatient at times in the pocket when it collapsed etc but I still liked the day Sims had yesterday, we really got some work to do with the WRs so that didn't help Sims by any means but I really hate to do this to y'all LoL but after McCarron looked better yesterday I'm gonna say a draw I still like.Sims to win and definitely don't rule out a dual QB system, I will also tell you this and I know you didn't ask but if there was any doubt Duron Carter was a massive signing it should've been answered yesterday and that's why he is coming, and he will start and be a superstar
