Title: Fall Brawl starts Tomorrow
Post by: Leewillie on September 30, 2011, 02:10:59 PM
The Alabama softball teams kicks off its fall schedule on Sat. Oct. 1 in a doiuble header at Western Kentucky.  They will play Murray State at 11:00 and Western Ky at 1:00 before returning to Tuscaloosa for a double header on Sunday.

I am anxious to see Bama's freshmen players, especially 6 foot pitcher Leslie Jury form Anderson, S.C.

It's been going on for several years.  It's kind of like Spring football, but you get to play other teams.  There are quite a few NCAA restrictions, like so many days to get in so many practices and can only play 8 games and cannot miss any academic class to travel.  That's why it is mostly on weekends. I believe there may even be a restriction on overnight travel.

I Know Lipscomb played UT a couple of years ago and had to wait until 3:00 PM to leave to go to Knoxville, then had to return home on the bus right after the game.

Thanks for reminding me, these senior moments are becoming more frequent. Are you going to be there Sunday?

No, I will be going to Bowling Green, Ky for the Saturday games.  Western Ky is only about 45 min. from my house.
