Title: SEC Golf Tournaments
Post by: pmull on April 16, 2011, 08:18:08 AM
The SEC men's and women's golf tournament are this weekend. Both are three day (54 hole) tournaments that started on Friday.

The men are in fourth after the first round. Florida is in first place with a score of +5. Bama is 6 shots back at +11.

The ladies are in fifth place after the first round. Auburn leads at -5. We are 8 shots back at +3. The tournament is being played on Auburn's home course.

Both our teams are very good. They need to make up some shots today to put themselves in position to win tomorrow. Check out the links below for more information.

I have to question the gender testing of the barn team.

Have you ever seen our team? I can promise you they are ladies, very attractive ladies at that.

Of course. Never questioned that. But when the barn is involved, I have become conditioned to smell a rat.

Yeah, the men's team had a little bad luck for this tournament.  Bobby Wyatt had a bum shoulder and was playing in his 1st tournament in about two months and Bud Cauley was throwing up sick for the 1st two rounds.  Bobby wasn't quite as sharp as usual due to lack of competition and Bud was really, really sick.  Hunter Hamrick, Cory Whitsett and Tre Mullinax all had good showings and overall the team played strong the last day posting a -2 score.  NCAA regionals are in about a month so all should be ready to go.  We'll miss Bud as he forgoes his Sr. season to turn pro but we have two great recruits coming in in Justin Thomas and Tom Lovelady.  We'll be really strong next year too.
