After four seasons at Missouri, head coach Barry Odom was fired, according to Pete Thamel of Yahoo! Sports. 247Sports has been able to confirm Thamel's report. The news comes after Missouri finished 6-6, its lowest win total since 2016.

Yes, I was surprised to hear this on SEC Nation this morning.  They must have someone in mind -- I can think of two underpaid coaches whose stock is high right now.

Yeah, I thought Odom was a decent coach, considering he was dealing with on-campus and sanction issues.

Let me guess, they are going after Bob Stoops, Urban Meyer, Bill Belichick, etc.

I'm thinking maybe PJ Fleck, more likely Luke Fickell, but someone like that.

Interesting possibilities but don’t think they would be interested in a 2nd tier SEC team. Fickell is from Ohio and Fleck is from Illinois. Fleck might be willing leave, not sure though.

Both Midwesterners.  Neither making SEC Head Coaching money.  Missouri made two SECCGs, so there is some possibility for success there -- probably more than at Cincinnati or Minnesota.

And who really wants to live in Minnesota?  Did you see that game vs. Wisconsin, it was cold and snowing, not ideal weather for the style of offense PJ Fleck likes, one reason Minn. lost.

Some folks do like Cincy.  I've never been there.

Columbia, MO is a pretty college town half-way between St. Louis and Kansas City, reasonable driving distance to either city.

But who knows.  They might hold out for something better, but Missouri isn't a bad job for a Midwesterner.

I would expect MO to go after Mike Norvell at Memphis.

Looks like it.

Maybe too much profanity?   Huh? Huh?

No one will want to go back and read it anyway...
