Listening to Jon & Barry this morning, and a guy called in saying he had heard from an inside source (which is probably very reliable Smiley) that Wilson would sign next week and that Trotter would leave. He didn't say Trotter would transfer, just that he would leave and claim a bad shoulder. This would not surprise me at all if it comes true. But will Chizik get the Saban treatment that he is running people off? Trotter was not his recruit, and he does not fit their system. So to me this is exactly what Saban gets called out for. But if this does happen, how many wins will Wilson add to the Auburn schedule? IMO, the situation is very different. Most notably, the OL is young & inexperienced. And Auburn lost their best WR in Darvin Adams. I don't think Wilson makes a huge difference. I still say Auburn gets 7-8 wins at most. More likely 6-6. I would love to see them go 5-7.

I think Wilson has to much to learn in short time but we shall see. I still think no more than 5-7 record at best. RTR!

You've got to be more hopeful, cr. Believe that the barn can go 0-12.  Cheesy

Isn't Wilson playing minor league ball right now? Is it a foregone conclusion that he will be coming back to football? I also wonder if he would have enough time to learn the playbook before the fall. SCam at least had the spring to learn (or I guess have the offense built around him, whichever you prefer).

The Rockies have said they do not want him to play football. Is he willing to give up baseball?

cbbama correctly pointed out that Cam went through spring practice. He was named QB at the end of the spring. They opened August practices without a QB race so Cam got all the reps. If you recall the barn almost lost several games early they would have won easily at the end of the year.

Cam was good but he had an experienced OL. This years line could be terrible.

IMO what made Cam special was his ability to convert 3rd and short by running like Tebow. That was part Cam and part OL. They will not have that this year.

Regardless of who is at QB the barn will struggle this year.

I figure he has to be coming back to football or these teams wouldn't even be talking to him. As for spring practice, Gus dumbed down the playbook a lot so that Cam could learn it. I figure if it's dumbed down enough for Cam, anyone else could probably learn it over lunch.  Tongue
