Title: Jimbo Fisher New Contract and Buyout
Post by: Marshal Dillon on October 15, 2021, 05:27:58 PM
College football has gotten totally ridiculous in coaches contracts. This for a coach who is 113-35 career wise for a 76% winning percentage. Read the link.

Three days before the start of Texas A&M's football season, the school announced a contract extension for coach Jimbo Fisher.

But perhaps the most notable part of the deal went unsaid.

Fisher, 56, is making $7.5 million this year and would be owed about $95.6 million if he is fired without cause on Dec. 1. Prior to the extension, he would've been due $45.6 million.

It's a lot of money, but it is a big money business.  The buy outs are much more ridiculous than the salary, IMO.

Jimbo has the 3rd highest career winning percentage of active FBS coach (min. 10 years as head coach), behind only Dabo and Saban.   Not exactly a shabby resume point.
