I heard on the news that there are still about 3 million people without power. I think WV lives in a remote area which may mean it could be a while before he gets power and internet service. The biggest problem is the oppressive heat those people are dealing with. Let's hope for the best. Godspeed to the utility companies in the affected areas.

WV does not have air conditioning anyway. I bet he does miss his fan.

I hope he's okay.  He posted last July (when he lost power) that he has a generator, so he should have his fan working.  He may not have water, but I'll bet he does.  His generator should run his pump (assuming he has his own pump, not a community system).

I bet WV has a generater big enough to light up his house like Clark Griswold's in Christmas Vacation. Hopefully he has water and can get ice, food and gas.

The utilitity company's work to get power, phone, etc back to as many people as can as quick as they can. Rural areas like where WV lives is not high priority. Hopefully they have restored power to a nearby area so he can get food, ice and gas. Based on reports I am reading I don't expect WV to be back on here until Friday or Saturday. I hope it does not go any longer than that.

Poor ole BAMAWV is probably enjoying a few days off work.

My wife talked with her mom in Milton, WV. today. Still no power. Based on the fact that they are located in a more populated area, I hate to think how long BWV may have to wait.

If that's not bad enough, there are reports that people are selling bags of ice for $75. They ought to be throat punched.  Angry Angry

You got that right! People that gouge during natural disasters need to be shot. It is supposed to be illegal, but it isn't properly enforced much of the time. You see it all the time during hurricanes here.  Angry

This is from the Pocahontas Times located in Marlington which is pretty close to the Green Bank area. Obviously still a very difficult situation.

e-Edition delayed

Due to severely limited Internet connectivity in Marlinton as a result of Friday's massive wind and thunderstorm, the July 5 e-Edition of The Pocahontas Times will be delayed.
Frontier internet service is still down throughout Pocahontas County. McClintic Library and the local cellular network are the only public data connections available in Marlinton at this time. Unfortunately, the upload speeds available on these two networks are insufficient to allow us to upload our pages to our e-Edition server.
The Pocahontas Times hopes to have the e-Edition uploaded by Friday morning, July 6.
We apologize for the inconvenience to our e-Edition subscribers.

There's only one thing to do at this point:

First, we assume he's fine.
Second, we show him how much we missed him by punking him.

Let's think up a plausible news story, and string together 10-15 posts that become increasingly panicked and which suggest more and more confirming evidence.  It can't be something like Saban leaving. He'd sniff that out immediately. Has to be something more subtle. When he finally does return, he has a minor heart attack, and then we have a big laugh about. Anyone remember any of WV's hot button issues?

Of course we'd have to delete this post and any posts referring to it.
