ROUND 2:

Phil in a bunker at the first hole.  But, what's this?  He gets a free drop within the bunker due to standing water in the bunker.  The rain has returned!

Phil gets a par at the 1st.  Still +3.
Rory with wayward drives on #2 and #3.  He's at -3, but in trouble.

Rickie Fowler bogies the 1st, then birdies the 2nd.  He's at +1.

Rory's trouble get nuts on #3.  He hits a wild shot from the rough, but (with great fortune) he ends up on a tee box with a good lie!

Rory gets a bogey at 3rd.  
Yesterday he hit a 16-year-old kid (in the head) who'd been camping out to watch the Open.  Rory gave him cash and a hotel room after he learned the kid was camping.

The kid Rory hit was really dazed; treated by medics.  "Hey, it's golf."

This bunker crap is ridiculous.  Luke Donald is in one.  He gets to "lift, clean, and place" within a club length.  He also gets the bunker raked before placing the ball.  Nuts! 

Meanwhile, Rory gets a birdie, and he's back to -3.
Phil in the rough again.  His permanent grin looks more like a grimace now.  Not the happy Phil we usually see.

Phil gets bogey on 3rd: +4.
Luke Donald unsettled too: E.

No wind, no rain, just soggy.

Phil tries an iron off the tee on the 4th.  In a fairway bunker!  Phil about to melt down.

Brandt Snedeker birdies the 1st: -5.
Steve Stricker gets bogey at 3rd: -2.
Phil salvages a par at 4th with a 4' putt.

Again, Phil is wayward but manages a par on the 5th.  He needs to get some birdies or he'll miss the cut.  Long way to go, but he isn't playing well right now.  He was even checking his vision (it seemed), holding a hand over each eye alternatively.  Odd.

Phil in short-side bunker at par-3 6th.  Drum roll...

Rory gets birdie at 7th: -3 again.  He had a good drive and a good 2nd shot.

Brandt Snedeker is at -5 and looking good.

Phil out of bunker on 6th, but is facing a 15' par putt.  Phil apparently changed some things to prepare for the OPEN, but it's not working.  He's not using his driver much; maybe he should.  His irons are wayward anyhow.  Here's his 15' par putt ... NOPE.  Now if he gets this he's at +5.  Ugh!

Luke Donald gets birdie on the tough #6: -2 (he's -2 on the day).

OMG, Phil missed the 2' tap-in putt!!  
Stick him with a fork!

Rory McIlroy and Brandt Snedeker are the 2 players most in control right now.  Expect Rory to be at the top after today.

Meanwhile, Phil just hit a spectator.  He's a mess right now.

Probably the last post about Phil.  He's at +6 (almost in last place).  He hit a wedge from 118 yards, but almost missed the green entirely; very unlike Phil.  He's just shaking his head in disbelief.  Never seen him so down.  Just to show how bad he's been, he's tied for 127th; John Daly is at +2 (tied for 80th).

The bunker on #17 has ankle-deep water.  Ducks were swimming in it.

Rory still playing pretty well, but he's had some poor drives. He's at -1 after 11.

Steve Stricker at -3 after 9, but just miss hit a chip, and will get a bogey (barring a miracle).

No miracle; bogey: -2.
