Coming off a bye week, there’s simply no way to explain how Tennessee came out so flat and unprepared against a team with very little talent that Muschamp is squeezing for every ounce of effort.

That’s absolutely on Jones and his offensive coordinator, Mike DeBord, who has been a poor fit from the beginning. If Tennessee ends up winning out (and it should, given the schedule), it will be interesting to see how Jones spins 9-3. The bet here is he tries to sell it as year-over-year improvement and gets upset when the narrative is spun that this was a blown opportunity for the Vols to get into a New Year’s Six bowl game.

At this point, Bearcats fans don’t really know what to think other than to blame Tommy Tuberville for what seems to be a multi-year string of poor recruiting and watching Cincinnati get passed by every other relevant program in the AAC.
