"Hand will be out probably and very doubtful for at least this game and maybe more," Saban said.

"Diggs will be day-to-day and he's also very questionable for this game," Saban said.

Could be worse.

Dirty block?  Not illegal, but ugly.

This was not the first dirty block I noticed while watching here at home.  There was a screen pass earlier where all 5 lineman just dove for the knees of the DL in unison as soon as the ball was snapped.

If they are going to have a rule about targeting to the head then they should have a rule against this too.

The 2 views on cut blocks after Da'Shawn Hand knee injury kick starts debate
(http://media.al.com/alabamafootball_impact/photo/handcutjpg-5e5a808c27eb45dc.jpg)Alabama DL Da'Shawn Hand hurt his knee against Ole Miss on a cut block.

"Yeah, it was legal. He just cut him," Nick Saban said Monday. "If it's illegal, we should eliminate cut blocking. I've been an advocate of that for a long time, but you're allowed to cut. It was a legal block. Until someone changes the rule, there's nothing illegal about it."

The sad part is that cut blocks are not illegal.  One thing should be that cut blocks from the side should be illegal.

If tackling someone at or below the knees is illegal, why wouldn't a cut block. I realize that the illegal tackling occurs only when the QB is stationary, but still, they are launching themselves directly at the knees on a cut block. Seems worse to me.

That is a very good argument.

I would think as long it is an Alabama player nobody will ever change the rule. As someone else said " If you can't beat'em cripple'em." RTR!
