They need to move the NCAA investigation headquarters to Auburn and save all kinds of money on travel expense.

FB stated "I'm not sure what all this means yet, but it cannot be good for Auburn if the NCAA is looking into the Prowl".

Interestingly, the first sentence at the start of his show was, "well it seems every day, something new is happening with Auburn, and today is no different."

I was watching the live feed, and FB was just shaking his head as if even he couldn't believe it.

Yes, I'm ashamed.  I did tune in today, but only for an update on Ramsey.   THIS ..I didn't expect.  Am I sad? Uh...no.

And here you go:

http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2011/04/auburn_ncaa_is_investigating_t.html

"BIRMINGHAM, Alabama - The NCAA is investigating Auburn's "Tiger Prowl" one year after the event ended for good, the university said this week.

The Birmingham News made an open-records request to Auburn seeking documents related to any individual NCAA violations from last year's Tiger Prowl, the attention-grabbing recruiting practice that Auburn coaches used while traveling the state. Auburn denied the request, saying that Tiger Prowl is the subject of a "pending investigation" and that Alabama law therefore does not require release of the records at this time. "

I'm a blogger!!  I'm a blogger!   :P  Thanks, SC.  Appreciate it.  Just checked some of the "minor league" boards....all of them are on fire.

Much as I want Auburn held accountable for their actions, it saddens me that Alabama, and the SEC as a whole, is being seen negatively via Auburn's actions.  You know...one bad apple... :(

All the humorless, sex predator comments Finebaum has made or insinuated about Terrie Saban and him having an affair. IMO, CNS brought him around last A-Day as an honorary coach, to demonstrate his complete lack of football knowledge-- to embarass and humiliate him. Also, I can easily imagine Terrie Saban putting up with his immature, nauseous overtures, as a necessary evil of being married to a Head Coach.

Of course, Tiger Prowl was two years ago. That shows you how long these things take. Don't expect anything on Cam for a while, and I mean 2 or 3 years, unless the federal bribery trial of the gamblers reveals something.

Walter Cronkite was once asked why the news was always fixed on the negative.  He said (paraphrasing), "You can't expect us to report on all the dogs who stayed home and behaved."

I have to think this really is part of a larger investigation.  Even if you take out all the other issues floating around with Cam, HBO 4, Ramsey talking to the NCAA, there would be no reason to investigate Tiger Prowl on its own, would there?

The sum of the parts.....well, you know.

Auburn University has confirmed that the NCAA Rules Committee will be their special guests at their annual A Day game this Saturday. Coach Cheeseit has not mentioned if any of them will be invited to coach either of the teams. From all reports gotten, the Tigers are planning a real fambly type party for them including a tour of AwBarn in their famous Tiger Prowl Mobile.

After the game, the delegation will tour the newly opened toilet paper museum.  Then they will head over to Toomer's Corner so the committee can see why it is all because of the REC.

I think this is exactly right.  The Auburn Senior Associate Athletics Director said, "The NCAA is not reviewing Tiger Prowl as individual violations. They are reviewing the entire event as a whole."   The "entire event is interesting terminology.  Could it be that the NCAA is building a case for a pattern of behavior, lack of institutional control, etc.?  The Tiger Prowl and its (supposed) minor violations may be just one piece of a thousand piece jigsaw puzzle that the NCAA is working on (Cam, HBO4, P4P, etc.).

Another quote from that article that really says it all:

Quote
Really, in my opinion, this is nothing more than the NCAA trying to look under any rock that may be on the Auburn campus as they investigate other areas of the school's recruiting practices. While you're in town, you may as well be thorough.

Another great quote from that:  "Maybe those 9-3 seasons aren't so bad" (referencing to the high scrutiny of winning a NC - with an asterisk, of course!)

Poor ole' ESPN - still hasn't picked up on this per their website as of 4:33 p.m. central.

After the NCAA fiasco with Cam's eligibility, the NCAA must look everywhere to find something on Auburn. They have been embarassed and discredited by that and the Ohio State/Jim Tressel mess. This is how you build a case, start small and just keep digging, asking questions, and looking.

You're actually dead-on with that observation.  I think it's actually been proven that most introverts and those shy by nature are far more comfortable in this type of arena.  I'm uncomfortable in crowds.  Which is why I don't log on if I see more than 15 registered members logged on here.
