The really sick joke here is he will probably get somewhere around $1.8 to $2.2 million a year. When he fails miserably, he walks with a huge severance package, probably $3 to $4 mil, at least.

I have always been under the impression that Duke and UNC fans don't even recognize that NCSU exists.

I would think this is icing on that cake.

Hey, don't forget that N.C. State has won 2 National Championships in basketball. One in 1974 and again in 1982 or 1983.

I have a family filled with Duke and UNC fans.  It's not that they don't recognize NCSU fans; they just cross the street when they see NCSU fans coming.

Gottfried will do OK at NCS, although he won't be able to compete with NC & Duke. The ACC is no longer the top bball conference it once was and Gottfried always recruited well.

I wish CMG the very best. He took us to the tourney and deep but he had a couple bad yrs. I think he will do well in the ACC. Blessings to him and his family but he is still part of the Alabama family to me. RTR!

He will do so good he will be fired afer 4 or 5 years.    :o

the AD from NCS said there was attempted sabotage evolved in the hire ? what is that about ? 
unless I heard espn wrong earlier ?

State AD is former AD at Maryland.  She said Maryland HC Gary Williams tried to sabotage search by saying she was difficult to work with.

When Gottfried is fired in say 4 years, th AD will be fired, too.

I agree with you Ricky.  I don't harbor any ill will toward CMG.  Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled that we have CAG.  But if CMG can be successful there I am all for it.

The man can't coach defense, his offense is disorganized, and he has to play Duke, UNC, Clemson, FSU, Maryland, etc.
