Give this man what he needs to be satisfied..He's got crimson blood..how the heck could he defect to the hated orange nation?  We desperately need this guy..or one of equal aptitude and performance. Too much to lose at this point. CNS can't do it all.

He wants to be the AD and I don't blame him. He's doing all the real work. He doesn't want to be te AD-in waiting.

He hasn't left yet. I think Alabama will pay him to stay. I am sure CMM knows this. The Viles tried to hire LSU's AD 2 months ago. LSU rewarded that guy and he stayed. I feel that the same thing will happen in Tuscaloosa. There is not reason the school will not try to keep him.

I would rather be the janitor at UA than THE AD at UT.

I get it man. I said I think Alabama will pay to keep him. Sooner or later CMM will retire. Then he can step in to the AD job. If he leaves, then he will probably come back to be the AD when CMM retires in the next couple of years. There are many associate athletic directors at Bama that all want to be the boss one day. They are bright and intelligent men that do a  great jobalready. It is not like he is the only one that can handle that job. My daughter works with a girl at Regions that is married to an associate athletic director. They fly to ballgames together like the Rose bowl. He is young, but wants to be an athletic director one day. That is true anywhere. They are going to Penn state and to the swamp in October together. No need to worry. Somebody can and will step up when needed.

YOU'RE STILL NOT GETTING IT. Dave Hart is either 61 or 62 years old. Should he wait until he's 66 to get the job? Mal's not going anyhwhere, soon.

Hey MD, when people think they are indispensable, then they need to get ready to be replaced. There is always somebody that is younger and more qualified and willing to work for less and do the same job better. (See NFL draft every spring). I don't care if that person thinks they deserve to be boss. Someone will step up and replace them. Always have and always will. It is human nature. It happens all the time when people think they are entitled to something. Sports is full of that.

Seems like there was some scuttle and concerns when Bama hired him, something about past problems.  Anyone remember that from the TS days, and what the story was?   Huh?

I do recall that FSU had some compliance issues during his tenure there.  I do not recall the specificicics.

I don’t remember all the details. FSU choose not to renew his contract. He had held that job since 1995 until 2008. There were athletes who had academic issues and other off the field problems. He came to UA in 2008. Then was promoted to his current job in Jan. 2009.

If he wants an AD job it looks like the Tenn job is his to accept. He is in a good situation at Alabama. I'm sure we will come up with the money if that is an issue. He went to school at Bama and has ties to the area. Tenn is not a desirable job right now. All major men's programs have new coaches and struggling. He's got a tough decision to make, it could go either way. I hope he stays.

Plus whoever Tennesse hires as AD, will have to replace the most successful coach in the history of basketball in serveral years.
