He's been ok.  Not superhero status or anything.  He hasn't had any big defining moments.  Hopefully he's saving them all for the playoffs.

Anyone following High School football?

Austin beat Florence 17-9 last night. Austin has made deep playoff runs the last few years in 6A but they moved up to 7A this year. They graduated 33 seniors last year so this is a very young team. They are off to a decent start at 2-1 (1-0 Region).

I saw where Hoover beat Thompson and Taulia last night. I think it was 45-26.

I went to the Huntsville v Grissom game last night.  Grissom has a new coach and they  have gone 2-0 to start the season.  They lost last night, though, in a game closer than the score would indicate.  Grissom ran up a lead in the first half, but Huntsville came storming back in the second half.

In the 4th Quarter, Huntsville ran a trick play (halfback pass) on 4th and 15 to take a 9 point lead.  Grissom then drove down the field, 1st and goal, but threw a 90 yard Pick6 to give Huntsville the game. 

I've been going to games because my daughter is in the band.  This is the first year, her Senior season, that Grissom has any chance to win games.  But the band sounds great.
