TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- Often praised for his power running and speed, Alabama star running back Trent Richardson showed fans some nifty moves last year when he tap-tap-tapped through Penn State's defense.

From the Pistol or the Wildcat, it didn't matter: Ricahrdson's many highlights were as much Fred Astaire as Earl Campbell.

"It was one of the biggest games of my life," Richardson said. "I knew they were going to count on me. I knew there were going to be ups and downs and that it was going to be a fight."

Richardson enjoyed his best statistical performance at Alabama that day. He led the Tide to a 24-3 win against the Nittany Lions thanks to career highs in carries (22) and rushing yards (144). He also scored a touchdown.

What did Richardson do to fuel his soul 30 minutes before he ran onto the field?

"I was probably praying," Richardson said. "I'm thinking of everything. If I'm in the backfield, I've got to get the first down if it's third or fourth. I've got to finish my pass routes, finish my blocks, square up, get downfield, get vertical, get all my checks down, all that kind of stuff."

"I know them boys want revenge, and they are going to bring everything they have," Richardson said. "They are going to throw everything they can at us, so we have to go out there and execute like we've been coached."

Good article.  Thanks.

This game will be an excellent chance to see what our O-Line and RB's can do against a real football team. I can't wait to see this game.

I can see this man has his head on his shoulder. He said first he was probably praying. RTR!

I predict it is gonna be a muddy field, a tight, hard fought game, maybe going down to the wire, and the special team efforts will get us through a very close win. My fingernails will be nubs by the end of the game..I will throw my cap in the floor at least 4 times on bonehead plays, and my wife will chastise me for it..I will not get up until half time..I will tape the game for later replay or Heaven forbid, remorse.

Can't say it any better than CNS has, to win , we have to focus, play sound football, play to the best of our ability..and as CPB used to say, "give just a  little extry".

Roll, Tide!
