I still think this is a power play by Gundy in a face-off with the AD for more control. He is playing UT & OSU.

Gundy's name has come up for several jobs lately. He is burning bridges at OSU which leads be to believe he will not stay there. I think he would be a decent hire for Tenn.

Agree. It is hard for me to accept he would leave his alma mater in such a manner. The AD may not survive if Gundy leaves. Very interesting.

It looks like Gundy will stay at OSU.

Quote
Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy, who had spoken to Arkansas and Tennessee about their openings, will remain with the Cowboys, sources told ESPN.

I am not sure the cookies Brando offers has all the sugar in there. He is not going to leave OSU. The AD will be fired before Gundy got OSU shirt off. UT better go after some smaller coach they need rebuilding and most coaches don't want to have to go that far without good wins. JMHO. RTR!

Finebaum just reported that reports from Knoxville say that Charlie Strong has turned down the Tenn offer.

Shocked I am not. I think Charlie Strong knows what the SEC is like. He can have good recruiting for himself where he is, but he don't what is blue chippers in this conference.  I really don't know if Tenn. could get anybody other than the Duke coach, shoot forgot his name. Maybe Fulmer might come back. RTR!

Kind of amusing that Gundy b-worded about Bama and LSU playing for the NC, then he turns down a chance to coach in the SEC. I guess when faced with the prospect of actually having to PLAY Bama and LSU, he decided to remain T. Boone's pool boy.

Wow! What a slapdown of UT if true. They have to go for a MAC coach, maybe Sunbelt. This could make them go for Petrino.

 Huh?

ESPN says Strong staying at L'ville.  This says something bad about the UT job.  Or maybe Strong is just happy where he is and decided to stay put.

Gruden says he's out too.  Bad day in Knoxville.

Isn't Louisville moving to the ACC? It's not too hard to get a few wins in that conference, Strong is no dummy.

If they really pursued Gruden, they wasted a lot of time on it.
